Jen graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2022, where she went to the Hussman School of Journalism and Media and received her Bachelor’s degree in Media and Journalism. She worked at The Daily Tar Heel (the student run newspaper at UNC Chapel Hill) as a Copy and Audience Engagement Editor, and SportsXtra (the student run sports based broadcast) as a Video Editor.

In the age of clickbait, a million podcasts, and TikToks, I (the writer) want to give you (the reader) a comprehensive, thorough, detailed article. I want you to finish an article on someone/something that you’ve never heard of before and come out of it with a new understanding. 

 A gripe I have with writing these days is the authors expect you to have a generous amount of background information. Maybe you’ve never skied before but want to read about a skier? Maybe you’ve never watched hockey before but you want to read about players? Why not! Let’s make it accessible! Hopefully, the articles can appeal to everyone - from someone who is approaching an article with a blank slate and eager eyes to someone who has depths of knowledge.
